Introduction
Hello, my name is Shana Walker. I am currently the 1st and 2nd grade teacher as well as varsity cheer coach. This is my 5th year at Cranfills Gap and my 18th year of teaching. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Work and went through the Tarleton Model for Accelerated Teacher Education to receive my teaching certificate in Early Childhood education. I absolutely love working at the Gap. I love the small class sizes, the staff are more like family to me, and as much as I'm up here, this school is my second home. The community here has been so welcoming and supportive. I can't imagine working at another school!!!!
Favorite Quote
My favorite quote is from the movie Dead Poets Society, “Carpe Diem, Seize the Day!!!” I find this quote even more meaningful the older I get.
Personal Information
I enjoy spending my time with Mr. Walker (aka the bus driver), he is not only my husband, he is my best friend. We have 2 grown children. Our daughter Brittany is married to a wonderful man named Zach, and they have blessed us with two grandsons, Langston is 6 and Kelly is 2. Our son, Hoyt is married to a beautiful woman by the name of Peyton, and they have blessed us with our 1st granddaughter Charlotte, who just turned one. In my spare time I love drinking coffee, laying out in my pool, and loving on all my animals.
